Did you ever have a teacher in school that?

did not care about you? Singled you out, avoided talking to you saying I am busy? I had LD and all

my teachers singled me out and did not try to

help me or talk to me.It seem they did not care

about me.

i had a couple of teachers in high school that didn’t give two sh*ts about being there or trying to help us (the students) get an education. and its sad to say that its a lot of teachers in a lot of school systems that come just for the paycheck…it hasn’t gotten any better and it probably wont. a lot of teachers aren’t dedicated like they use to.

God yes. In middle school my math teacher would shout out that I had failed yet another test as soon as I walked in the door (the only other test scores she announced were very high scores), comment on the way I looked in front of the whole class (I was a little overweight), and refused to help me with any math questions because “you’re not going to do the work anyway.” I got a D in the class and had to repeat it. It was the only D I ever got in math, before or after that (straight A’s otherwise).

She is the reason I went into teaching – because middle school kids are already experiencing the hardest years of their lives, so if I can make it a little easier, then that’s good!

Sadly, the spirit and drive of a teacher has been lowered these days…They are just not as motivated as they were back in the day when teaching was considered a high-end job with a lot of respect.

With that, you kind of have to understand where he/she is coming from. Maybe you should try to show more respect and interest in the subject. That might help them remember why they became teachers in the first place. It’s a win-win situation.

There are teachers who do not care. Most of the teachers that I have met do not care.

Teaching an LD student is not easy. Not every teacher knows how to do this. I am sorry for those who do not have the skills and take it out on the students who end to be among the mist sensitive and the most needing of attention and time.

Perhaps you should be in special classes which are educed in class size and where the teachers are hopefully trained and have a better heart. Speak to you parents about that.

I am sorry for your bad experiences. perhaps this school year will be different for you.

If one teacher ignored you that could be on them but if you are saying that ALL of your teachers ignored you then it might be something that is in your head or that you brought upon yourself.

The same goes for a teacher-if one or two students fail it is most likely the students fault but if half or more are failing it is most likely the teachers fault.

I feel your pain.

I spent all of my primary and secondary

education with a learning disability in Math

and never knew. I always wondered why

I was never successfull in math and only

once in 7th grade did I have a teacher who

taught me more in one day then most had in

a school year. That is why I intend on teaching

kids with learning disabilities. Maybe you can

take your bad experience and help those who

are as misunderstood as you were. I did 😉

No. I never did have a teacher like this. Of course, I live in Kansas where people generally do care about one another.

i have had teachers like that. The only thing i did to actually make them a little nicer to me and to acknoledge me is to be very nice to them. i don’t me suck up to them, but just friendly everyday student gestures. And make sure your homework is on time so they don’t have a reason to see you as a “bad student”.
