Most universities require SAT scores, but not all do. You need to start the application process by researching universities or colleges that offer what you are looking for in terms of academics, lifestyle, size, location, etc. Once you find a list of suitable universities, find their admissions requirements. If you are applying as an international student from a country where English is not spoken, then you will definitely need to take the TOEFL test. International students also need to present financial documents for visa purposes.

SAT or ACT. You can pick up prep books, or if they offer them in your area you can take prep courses which are generally costly, and may or may not improve your score significantly.
