Born and raised in Boston, I have become enamored with early American history and the events that shaped this nation. It has been my goal to get bachelors and master’s degrees and share my love of history with others. My other interests include inter mural sports, volunteering at the community library, playing violin in my high school orchestra, and reading. My parents have stressed the value of education to my two younger brothers, my older sister and I as long as I can remember. Our family has visited every historic site in the Boston area, as well as numerous sites in other states. The fascinating stories behind these places come alive in my mind as I study about various historical events. I can’t wait to make history come alive for other students, and show them the subject isn’t only about random dates, names and places.

One of my high school history teachers attended State University and has inspired my interest in the school. After visiting the campus and talking to advisers in the history department, I’ve realized it is my first choice of schools.

Be cool about it and if you have good grades then you will be just fine.
