A primary source is the original author. For example, if you wanted to know what happened in a famous person’s life and they wrote an autobiography…the autobiography would be a primary source. If there was a website using quotes from that autobiographical book, they would be a secondary source.

A primary source is something written by the original author, not a third person. Some would be the Declaration of Independance, Upton Sinclairs The Jungle, the Constitution, etc. Hope this helps

A primary source is a document, speech, or other sort of evidence written, created or otherwise produced during the time under study. Primary sources offer an inside view of a particular event. Examples include:
Original documents: autobiographies, diaries, e-mail, interviews, letters, minutes, news film footage, official records, photographs, raw research data, speeches
Creative works: art, drama, films, music, novels, poetry
Relics or artifacts: buildings, clothing, DNA, furniture, jewelry, pottery

OOHH We just learned this in History.
A primary source is straight from the source.
i.e. :
-Picture
-Autobiography
-Certificate
It is anything that is written by the person that it happened to… if that makes sense.
Good luck!

It is an account written by someone who actually was at the event and witnessed it.
