Teachers- What do you really think about all of the state-fed mandatory testing?

It seems to me as a parent, that in order to get good scores on these tests, that so much information is thrown at the kids so rapidly that it really does not have time to sink in. By the time the tests are over, most of it is just forgotten.

Testing is part of the educational process. In order to effectively teach you have to know the level of the student. That being said…The state/federal mandated tests rarely give any useful feedback for students. Plus administrators are concerned about their jobs, so teachers are put in a position to teach to the test.

Accountability is a good thing, but I do not think the current method is appropriate.

Most teachers hate the policy of the mandatory tests. Believe me, I’ve been in enough classes to hear the teachers complain about them.
