The PSAT is a practice SAT, so it will help you prepare for the SAT. If you do not do well, it will not hurt you, since colleges do not ask for your PSAT results. On the other hand, if you do extremely well, you could qualify for National Merit, which usually brings a lot of scholarship money. When you get your PSAT results, put a “0” at the end, and that will give you a good estimate of what your SAT score would be. You can compare that result with the requirements for the college you want to attend to see where you stand and what you need to work on before you take the real SAT. You might try the practice SAT at www.collegeboard.com before you take the PSAT to find out what kind of questions you will be asked. Good luck.

i might take the two the PSAT and the SAT to get each and all the prepare i will. My son did SAT prep to coach for the PSAT and did positive. So, you do no longer might desire to do something particular or diverse to prep for the PSAT. additionally, do no longer assume the PSAT math is extra handy than SAT math. The SAT and PSAT are the two genuinely flair tests and intensely comparable. they’re extra comparable to an IQ attempt than an success attempt. it is the reason some people who do nicely on the ACT math and SAT difficulty attempt math II, can not do nicely on the decrease point math in the SAT Reasoning attempt. as an occasion, my very own son scored a sixty 9 on the PSAT Math area in junior 12 months. Then, took the SAT Math II difficulty attempt some months later and scored 750. he’s making plans on taking the SAT Reasoning this October and expects to attain a lot greater than 690, if prepare tests are any indication.

It depends on what year you are in right now. (freshman, sophmore, or junior) If you are a junior you should be aiming for maybe the 2000+ (200s for PSAT, the whole add a zero thing) so you can qualify for the National Merit scholarship. The PSAT is just good for practice if you don’t do well then its no big deal. Just do better on the actual SATs. I’m taking it this year too so good luck to the both of us lol ^^
