SSHSAT exam? [specialized high school]?
I took the Specialized Science High Schools Admissions Test before int he 8th grade but i didn’t study and missed Brooklyn Tech. by 4 points while my friends went off to Bronx and Stuyv. (great huh?)
I wanted to redo the SSHSAT’s but i have several questions i was hoping someone could help me out with.
Are there different versions ofr the 8th graders and the 9th graders? I think there is but i’m not all that sure.
If there is, then is the 9th grade version a whole hell alot different? I know it’s going to be a bit different, no duh, but i just want to know how much.
Around what day will the test be? I’ve been to my g. councler but she said that they would announce it when they would be and when can we sign up but i just want to know [roughly] when they would be so that i would know how much time i would have to study. ๐ [wooh, alot of would :P]
thank you. ,’:D

Basically, the SHSAT that you take in 8th grade tests you on math that you learned in grades 1-7. They just make it complex and try want you to go a step ahead of normal kids. The 9th grade SHSAT tests you on math learned in grades 1-8. Pretty much the scrambled paragraphs will be a bit more advanced and the logical reasoning will also be a bit more advanced. Also the reading part will be a little harder. The math part will have algebra and trigonometry. I didn’t take the test last year but I want to get into Bronx science this year. So, i’ve been studying everyday with kaplan books and baron’s books.
The test for ninth grade students will be on november 3.
