Should I take the SAT Reasoning again?

I am a senior in high school

i got a 650 in math and verbal and a 600 writing so that gives me a 1900

I want to go to Stanford University

but I am applying to University of Penn and Columbia (and villanova and drexel for safety)

are those scores enough to get me into my top choices

I really don’t want to take the reasoning again but i have want a higher math score but i already took the test 3 times and am not sure how much it will improve even with mass amounts of practice and i don’t want my parents 40 bucks for the test to be only for like 10 points, or worse NO points.

It really depends. I mean, 1900 isn’t a bad score at all, but if you’re applying to Columbia and UPenn, where the average SAT score is over 2000, then you should. But if you don’t have the confidence to get a higher score, then you should not take it at all. It’ll look bad if you do worse. Hopefully, you have a high GPA because 1900 may not be enough for a college like Columbia and Stanford. I had a friend last year, who wanted to go to Standford, but didn’t get accepted even with a 4.7 GPA and 2000 SAT score. So, if you think you could do better on the SAT next time, then take it. Even a 10 point boost would look letter. Good luck and hope you get accepted!

Yeah def. take i again. It will be worth it if you get a higher score…any higher score will help your chances out. Especially when considerig to apply to UPenn, Colombia and Stanford, three of the best colleges in the country. All three colleges have an average SAT score from the freshman class of over 2100, so you def. should take the test again. These schools turn down hundreds of perfect applications each year, and if one little thing is wrong with your application, then you can kiss those schools goodbye.

Good Luck
