You are not allowed to use a calculator on the MCAT. Pencils, paper, and noise canceling ear covers are provided when you arrive – you can take an unopened package of earplugs, but that’s all. Other than your ID, you are not allowed to take anything into the testing center with you. Dress in layers, and eat a good breakfast before hand, because once you’re in the room, you won’t be leaving until you have completed the exam. Get a study book with lots of practice problems, and set aside a day to do a practice test at least a month before you take the exam (you can order practice tests from the same website you register on). Once you begin working the practice problems, you’ll see that you don’t really need a calculator – you can do most problems on scratch paper or by using logic to eliminate answers (this is where the multiple choice aspect of the exam really works in your favor).

no calc are allowd.. i was just reading the website.. you cant even wear a watch.. and if you are wearing a jacket they might ask you to leave it in a diff room… and if your cell phone goes off then they will put your name on a security list (what ever that means) but they are realy tight about everything!!! but good luck!! im still a sophmore so i have a little time before i take mine..
