Don’t do journalism. Do history or economics or international relations and write for the school paper and take a few journalism courses. You’ll have a much better chance of going far if you know about the subject material you want to write about, instead of just how to write.

I would study journalism. Most schools that have journalism your degree is in journalism but then you have an emphasis in a different area like print, broadcast, public relations, advertising, EMS, magazine.
