If I describe a thesaurus as “Its a thesaurus I don’t know what else to say” would that be ironic and funny

Since the purpose of a Thesaurus is to provide “something else to say”, I found it quite amusing.

Not sure whether your intent is to describe a thesaurus, or be ironic and funny. But, no, it’s neither ironic nor funny.

No! Neither nor funny! Ironic is when an occurrence has an effect which is coincidental to the definition of the term in question! Funny is never funny! When an act has an effect wherein the performer, causes his own justice, is called poetic justice, and is often referred to as irony, which is also incorrect! The point of your perception, seems to be an attempt, to find a clever way, to say,”just because you dont know, doesnt mean i know”!

No, it would show that you’re not articulate (check your thesaurus).

Don’t worry, it’s a common problem.

Probably but I think it would annoy some people (see above Answerer). Just say it’s a treasure, which is where the word comes from, & say it should be buried.
