I’ve scored a 550 on two Princeton Review practice GMAT tests. How accurate is that?
I really need to get a 600 on the actual test. I can’t say I’ve been completely focused on these tests nor have I tried my hardest, so I’m optimistic that I will score higher on the actual test. Any personal experiences or information would be helpful.

The standard error of measurement tells you the range in which your next score could come, and for these kinds of tests it is around 30. so your next score, without any significant changes will be between 520 and 580. Using regression to the mean, as most people are likely to score closer to the mean, your next score will probably be lower.
These are pretty accurate, so study better, smarter, wiser, and use another prep book, and then another. Variety of learning styles will help. Read fun things with hard vocabulary, read The Economist, the International Herald Tribune, The Wall St Journal, (although papers have low vocab for your purpose they will help you learn) Management journals . . reading builds vocabulary, and reading helps you learn.
