okay i’m the same way (in a less extreme way) english comes very easily to me, but math doesnt. my advice is to bring home your textbook every night and take 10 or 15 minutes to go over what you learned that day. also do extra review problems from your textbook. And if you’re unsure about the nights homework have a parent go over it and help you with ones you get wrong. (my teacher suggested this to my parents and altough i wasnt exactly thrilled about having my parents involved, it REALLY helped me.) also have an extra notebook on hand and write all new formulas and things you learn. it makes it a lot easier to review before a test. if your trying really hard and doing everything you can it might not just be you. the way your teacher works might just not click for you. if thats the case don’t be afraid to get a teacher. you’ll thank yourself in the long run. if you do all these i guarantee it will help. last year at one point i was at a C after doing those i brought my grade up to an A.

Try using the skills mentally whenever possible. If you focus on the basic arithmetic first it’ll be better because it’ll speed the things up. And to tell you the truth stick to the basics.

I’ve been through high school and 4 year degree, the math might be more advanced in those levels but they always focus on the root. If you’re strong in basics then there’s not much you have to worry about except putting regular effort.

Next thing is technique of using shortcuts – correctly, because its easy to mess up at one point or the other using false assumption. Try calculating faster such that you’ll have time to revise what you just did towards the end of solving the puzzle. Believe me this combination works like charm.

You’ll need to practice a lot, both math and English. The average score in English is a little over 500, so your English score is only OK, not great. For math you’ll just have to try your hardest in your math class and study study study.

Same way you get better at any thing you practice…The “Great Source” Education Group offers two excellent reference books for math. They are like Math dictionary’s got a problem ?….look it up! One is titled “Math On Call” and covers early math to about the 8th grade level …numeration, number theory,computation,Algebra,Graphs ,Statistics,geometry, ratio,proportion,percent, probability and Odds . The other book is called “Algebra To Go” and is the best reference book for the Algebra years. Both are available on line.. I think mine came from Schoolastic Books and were under 35.00 for both books.

Well there are quite a few things you can do. First, you need to give your Math class 110% effort if you want to do well. You need to do every homework, study for every test, pay attention in class, etc. If it still does not click to you I recommend going for extra help. If your teacher can not provide the help, I recommend an outside tutor.

i say get a tutor (which of course don’t have to be expensive) or/and try checking out from the library a Math for dummies book. I’m pretty sure they will be able to help too.

Practice, do A LOT of exercises until you master the most important topics. Avoid using calculator as much as possible, it really helps your brain work math problems and once you are used to not using a calculator…calculation will come much faster to you.

Go to your local public library. They have lots of great books to help you improve your Math SAT scores.

every night do extra problems of what youre doing in school and if you dont understand it dont just blow it off- try to walk yourself through it or ask your teacher before class to explain it, also try get an SAT review book and do the math problems in their. they have explanations and the same format of problems will be on the actual test. good luck
