What are your scores? What is there to discuss?
You will need scores of at least 10-11’s to be considered competitive by most U.S. medical schools. And if you’re aiming for the top, you should have 12’s and above. Your GPA better be 3.5 or above.
Today everybody including their brother and sister want to be Medical Doctors. The competition is tremendous. It just isn’t enough to get in medical school. You have to have enough brain power to do very well on the USMLE tests.
Including the foreign doctors trying to become American Doctors there are way more doctors than there are medical residency openings.
President Bush is letting Indian Doctors flood into the U.S.A. and many of them have near perfect scores on the USMLE.
If your scores are not high enough to be a Medical Doctor become a P.A. instead.
Don’t go to a foreign medical school. Half of all IMG’s and FMG’s never get a medical residency.
What many people forget is that you have to have an incredible memory and need to be able to learn at a very fast rate to make it through medical school. Then after you have to have a tremendous recall to be able to diagnose difficult cases.
If you got low scores retaking the test isn’t really helpful. If you had to struggle with the test than imagine the struggle of getting through a medical education.
