Do subjects SAT scores matter more than reasoning SAT?
Favorite Answer
That said, the reasoning SAT is more universal. Colleges often do not require subject test scores at all while they usually require a reasoning score. Also, subject tests are often used for placement rather than admission.
In general, if you had to choose between taking either a subject test or reasoning test, go with the reasoning test, because pretty much all colleges require that you take it.
Not all colleges need subject tests, but for the ones that do, it is just as important.
Score-wise, I’d say it’s better to have a higher SAT reasoning score than an SAT subject test score, just because the subject tests are really specific and there are other indications of doing well in a specific subject, such as the grade in a certain class or an AP test.
