I hate advertising that is geared toward kids. But, you can limit their exposure by not allowing tv. If parents didn’t sit their kids infront of the tv 24 hours a day, these advertisers would not be making money off the ads, and it would stop.

You can cut down on ads by only allowing a movie on dvd…

But I totally agree with you and I really hate those annoying ads!

It’s all about money. The people who do these ads KNOW that lots of parents in USA just hand the kids anything they want to shut them up.

Kids nowdays don’t understand the concept of earning what they need and want.

How and why did parents get this way??

Think about it. At christmas and birthdays for all kids you have to get presents for, you can NEVER think of anything to get because they already have a room full of junk they never play with!!

NO, it should not be illegal – although I do NOT think products that are illegal for children (alcohol and cigs) should be advertised towards them. But, it is not the governement’s job to be the parent. It is the parent’s job to teach the child about advertising, fiances, life etc etc.

depends on what your worldview is. If it’s hedonistic and the ethical boundry’s are defined by the legal system, then what’s the problem. If your world view is shaped by a moral code, then check the foundation of your moral code to determine that answer.

Personally – in my view, it is, but it depends on a few criteria.

It’s not wrong to adverise to an underage market whose parents give them money without them having to earn it. Easy come, easy go….

ps – why is this under Special Ed?
