Since you didn’t really tell us how old your are it’s kind of difficult to answer your question. If your reading and writing levels are so low you would need to get help to bring them up to college level. I think that you need to find someone who can tutor you and help bring your levels up. IF you’re old enough to go to college how did you graduate with such low reading and math levels?? There are also some colleges for people with learning disabilities, You might want to see if you can find one. If you’re not of college age why aren’t your parents doing what they can to make sure that you’re getting the services that you need to improve?? For some reason it doesn’t sound right for this day and time. IF you’d gone to school in the 60’s as I did than maybe I could understand little was know about learning disabilities back than.

You are never too old to go to school. I don’t agree with the one answer you received. She asked questions like someone who truly hasn’t dealt with the system, or knows what she’s talking about. There aren’t colleges that are just for people with learning disabilities. But every college has a program for special assistance to people with disabilities. There is also funding available to get the education services your asking for. OVR (office of vocational rehabilitation) needs a referral from your doctor to verify your disability then they do an intake appt. They pay for the education, help do the enrollment, etc……. If you decide on a major university, ask specific questions about their disability assistance progams as some are much better than others.

You might want to start with your local community college. There are programs to help students with your learning problems. People with low reading skills can and have earned college degrees. Don’t give up. Check it out and find the help you need to do what you want.
