My mark is weighted. So how do i figure out what mark I need on my final?

My marks are as follows:

Midterm – 72%, weighted as 25%

Assignment 1 – 86%, weighted as 20%

Assignment 2 – 86%, weighted as 10%

quiz 1 – 90%

quiz 2 – 100%

quiz 3 – 100%

quiz 4 – 80%

quiz 5 – 100%

the weight of the quizzes total 10%

and the final is worth 35%….

how do i find out the mark i need to pass?

and is there a general formula that i can use for all my classes?

Midterm multiply 72 x 0.25 = 18

Assign. 1 86 x 0.2 = 17.2

Assign 2 86 x 0.1 = 8.6

Quizzes Add the 5 and divide by 5..then multiply by 0.1 = 9.4

then add together = 53.2

So If you need a 60 to pass…..multiply whatever mark you think you’ll get on the exam by 0.35….and add that number to 53.2. To pass, you’ll need a 23% if you need a 60% to pass.

Good luck

What I did was make fractions.

EX: 94/100 10(for perfect) x 10 = 100 94×1=94

And: 180/250 25 x 10 = 250 72 x 2.5 = 180

So this is what you had

94/100 180/250 172/200 86/100 and the final would be ????/350 and all the denominators added up would be 1000.

If you achieved a 46.5 it would give you 162.75/350 and when you add up your numerators you get 695.

Now 695/1000 = 69.5 – rounded to 70.

If you need a 70 to pass.

= (1/5[79] + 3/10[64])/(1/2) = 2(79/5 + 96/5) = 2(175/5) = 2(35) = 70 Answer: 70%—I wish you should have presented the problem in a clearer way. 20% & 30% constitute only 50% of the overall that is why I divided the computation by 1/2.
