1)0.2666(4 significant figures)

2)-0.6666(4 significant figures)

3)0.375

4)0.8571(4 significant figures)

5)0.5555(4 significant figures)

It’s simple. Just divide the numerator by the denominator and if the decimal is too long, look at how many significant figures or decimal places the problem requires and state it in a bracket after your answer. Relax, the decimal system is no much different than the fraction system.

you divide them

such as 4 divided by 15 equals .2666666666

.2/3 would be .6 with a bar on top of it. etc

that / means “divide.”

4 ÷ 15

-2 ÷ 3

3 ÷ 8

etc.

Sometimes you’ll get a really long decimal as your answer. Just round as necessary.

Take your fraction and divide the second number by the first number and put your decimal point in front of that answer. Example:

4 divided by 15 = .266

2 divided by 3 = .666

3 divided by 8 = .375

and so on…….

That depends. What place do you want to round to?? I usually round to the hundredths place, so:

4/15 = 0.27

-2/3 = -0.67

3/8 = 0.38

6/7 = 0.86

5/9 = 0.56
