Go to the Art Institute. I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and I learned a lot there. I graduated a few years ago, and I have my own business now, diggidesigns.com. There are Art Institutes in practically every state. Good luck!

I can’t offer you any advice about graphic design schools in the US as I have always resided in Australia, but I would advise if you have any opportunity to get on-the-job experience while you study, to take it. It will help you decide whether the design industry is really for you and if perhaps you want to branch out to specialised areas, such as web design, which may require additional study courses. I have worked full time as a graphic designer since leaving school A few days ago and I am still learning. Technology is always changing and the changing face of advertising constantly requires thinking outside the square, but this is what makes it an exciting and rewarding profession. It sounds like you are passionate about leaving your creative mark in our ever changing world, so hopefully you will have a long enjoyable career ahead of you. Best of luck!
