The key term is “individual” educational plan. So every IEP is extremely different depending on the child’s needs. Their could be modified grading standards or alternative grading standards or the same grading standards, but slightly modified work. There are tons of combinations.

It depends on the childs needs. If they need to be graded in a different manner then that will be written into their IEP. I don’t necessarily think it is an “easier” grade, because the child still has to work just as hard within their own capabilities and limits to make the grade.

When I was a teacher in a private school, students with IEP’s were given special accomodations, but not easier grading standards. In other words, we could have them take a test in a separate room without a time limit, but they were still given the same test and it was still graded the same. Not sure if it’s the same for public schools.

Yes. Goals are made by you , teacher, and the intervention specialist. You will be given progress type reports on the areas that his IEP covers. The grading standards go by the specific disability. If your child is profecient on their own in a subject, they may be graded normally on that subject, then graded on a more progress type scale for things they need the IEP for.

It could. If not, it would include exemptions and other flexibilities that would definitely affect grades.
