what does this quote mean?

The walls in this old place are so familiar

and with the windows they will filter

all the thoughts that lost their minds

and all the thoughts that challenge times.

I think that this quote is an example of conceit, (an extended metaphor) for suppression of some kind. The walls are actually meant to represent the invisible barriers placed on people. People are meant to conform to authority, and any opposing thoughts that ‘challenge the time’, that have been spoken ‘lost their mind’ will be squashed ‘filtered’.

I think it means something about an abandoned house and someone viewing it for the first time in a long time.
