Never heard that before but I would think it would mean something to the effect that a peson is known more for their actions than what they proclaim (Actions speak louder than words)

The Bible uses this to say that even though you may claim to be a follower of God (religious) you may not be in your heart. They way to tell is by watching what you do. If it doesn’t reflect what the word teaches then you are not a true Christian.

The tree is a religious teacher. The fruit is the doctrine the teacher advocates. If it’s good doctrine, then you have a good teacher. If it’s bad doctrine, then you have a false teacher. FALSE TEACHERS = BAD!!!

The person is known by his deeds.

Thoughts become words

Words become actions

Actions become character

This is a way of saying that you judge people by their actions.
