You could change clothes in the bathroom

Same answer as the one above me, I took my clothes to the shower. There was an area outside the shower stall behind the curtain where you could hang up your robe, towel, clothes, etc. and get dressed. If you need to change in the dorm room and your roommate is there, it shouldn’t be a big deal to change your pants and shirt in front of him, but change your underwear in bed under the blanket. I had a worse problem on the few occasions where I needed to shower after working out at the gym. Normally I’d go straight home, but a few times I had to go somewhere straight from the gym, and their shower didn’t even have stalls or walls between people, and I’m very self conscious. I basically just faced the wall and didn’t look at anyone. This way, I figured that if I’m not looking at anyone else, no one is looking at me, or if they are at least I don’t have to see it or know about it. When I was done and had to put my underwear on in the locker room, I did everything while keeping the towel wrapped around me as best as possible. I don’t understand how some of those people could walk around the locker room naked with no shame, and not just because they had to change their clothes, some would even shave naked.

It is perfectly normal to feel the way you do. You and your roomie will work something out. Eventually, you will not be embarrassed about this. At least not around yoour roomie.

I think it is a treat to me to read your question– a young girl who has modesty– you are a rare person. I hope you never change.

Esther–When I first went into the Navy, I shared a bathroom with 96 other room mates. We didn’t change clothes in there.

As I remember dorm life, some people went to the communal bathroom and changed in one of the stalls. A real time-consuming and juggling-sort-of way to change clothes.

Suggest you string a light blanket or sheet across where you’ll change in the dorm room. And give yourself a chance; you may find that certain forms of modesty just don’t do in crowded living conditions. EVERYone is shy at first, don’t worry! You should relax soon.

You could change in the bathroom, but I’ve gotta tell you… after living with someone in a single room for two years, you’re going to know more about each other than you ever cared to know about another human being.

You will get used to it after time you won’t even care who is in the room. Part of college!

you could by one of those things.. i dont know what they are called.. the are like folding doors. and just keep it leaning on the wall until you have to change and then when you are ready to change, just unfold it and undress behind that. and no one sees a thing.

Your modesty will wear off in about a month or so. Use the bathroom until then I guess.
