Yes, I do agree. Men is what God has created them. When they strike a fortune, it will reveal their true color. But for those who strive hard and sweat alot before he found his fortune… it works in a different way.

The problem is that when such an all-encompassing generality is made, it is difficult to buy it totally. There are some for whom fortune has made no change–they are the same as before being so blessed. There are some for whom fortune reveals (“unmasks”) a baser person than was the poorer man before he had a fortune. And there are some for whom fortune reveals an unexpected philanthropist, though this is admittedly a rarer experience.

So what do I think of the quote? I think that it is the same as all stereotypical categorizations–it is subject to error of some degree.

I think its true that people dont normally change but I suppose you will then see the kind of person they truly are once you see what they do with the new money.Thats what I get from that(“unmask”)

A man is always what he becomes when money is added. Money does not make an evil person but releases one. Moral: Don’t blame the money, the person was probably always that way.

im a man. no i dont find it offensive, ts true all men, including women have a want. money fills them with happiness and lust. and um… no i dont agree with the qoute because it only defines men and some humans have trained them selfs to not like everything

We have all heard that money changes people, usually for the worst. She is disputing this claim that it is money changing man by telling us that we are what we are and that money brings out our true nature.

Some people think the same thing about alcohol, you can not blame the alcohol, it just brings out what ever is there.

it means.. human will show their real side when they are given wealth. it means wealth or power can change a person to his truly real personality.

weird…i would think it WOULD mask them, because if they gain a fortune, they go re-creating themselves
