I need your help. There’s a wonderful quote I once heard and now cannot find it anywhere! Please help!?

It is along the lines of a strong (wise?) woman who knows how to let her man leave her when he needs to and when he comes back, something about finding her in the place where he has returned.

It’s a beautiful nod to just “letting them go in the cave” and then when they “come back” not whining about feeling abandoned, etc. It is much more elegantly and poetically said.

I have looked far & wide. I want this for a friend who desparately needs it. If you can help, I would be soooo appreciative. 😉 Thanks!

If you love someone,

Set him free…

If he comes back, he’s yours,

If he doesn’t, he never was….

is the only famous thing I can think of that’s close to what you are saying.

How about these from my great grandfather:

You don’t avoid poop on the ground because you’re afraid of it, you avoid it because it’s poop.

The fuller a stalk of wheat is, the lower it bends to the ground.

Knowing a little is more dangerous than knowing nothing.

Not the same point, but as for your quote, just make up something that sounds good but still illustrates the point. That always works for me. Literally.
