Stephen Hawking’s last paragraph in “A Brief History of Time” is my favorite quote. He is talking of a general theory that would describe our universe and, consequently, our place in it.

“However, if we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by

everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able

to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to

that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason – for then we would know the mind of God.”

If you want a history lesson of human views on our place in the universe read the first chapter. You’ll see the hypocrisy in the church and the value of being open-minded when it comes to listening to unpopular views. People of majority have done horrible things to minority opinions later to find out that the majority view was wrong.

i dont really know who its by or anything, but one that always sticks out in my mind…

” Worry is like a rocking chair. It keeps you moving, but it never gets you anywhere”.

I have a hard time with worrying about everything, and thinking about that just helps me to relax a little bit and realize that everything will be ok in the long run.

By Ghandi he was a Hindu…..

“As soon as we lose the moral basis, we cease to be religious. There is no such thing as religion over-riding morality. Man, for instance, cannot be untruthful, cruel or incontinent and claim to have God on his side.” Ghandi
