Try to get some replays of the BBC series “How art made the world” there is the most excellent stuff to learn by watching this series….highly recommended……next buy the book “A World History of Art” and memorise ever painting and sculpture in there, (Im serious….art history exams are about memorising all that stuff)……then research all the contemporary artists, the classical painters, the renaissance sculptors and their connection to the Egyptian pyramid builders and stone masons……… then go back further to the cave paintings in France and the Venus of Willendorf etc.

Then you have to work on your skills as a painter, sculptor, life drawing, mixed media, computer graphics, photography, design (thats a biggie)…….and lastly youll probably want to sign up for at least a 3 year fine arts course, because the qualifications you need will be gained this way……you can apply to 2nd or 3rd year levels if youve really done your homework, this will save a year or two….after that you may want to sign up for a masters degree…….anyhoo all the best and good luck in shaping all those young minds of the future.

You need to be more specific. Do you want to be a public school or university teacher? If you want to do public schools then you need to find a university that has a degree in art education. If you want to be a university teacher then you’ll need at least a MFA degree.
