Would you correct a teacher’s incorrect information?

My daughter is in 6th grade. Today in her social studies class, the teacher was discussing the topic “fjords”. A student pronounced it “fuh-jord” with a hard J sound, and she agreed and repeated it, saying this was correct. My daughter knew it was not correct, but said nothing. This is sadly far from the first time that we have had to deal with incorrect information coming directly from a teacher in more than one school district. Would you correct this and if so, how?

Hi, don’t worry I run across this problem alot. My teachers in the past and my Geometry teacher right how always make mistakes. My Geometry teacher is the worst though. Since his mistakes are obvious the whole class tells him. If they are not we usually leave him alone. But this is my advice:

Tell her to either

A. Raiser her hand and ask if it’s said the other way. Baically giving them the correct answer, cleverly disguised as a question.

B. Tell her after class.

C. She could talk with a few other kids really quick and then correct the teacher. That way the other kids agree with her.

Good luck!

Yes,I would feel compelled to say something where my child’s education was as at stake, and if this is not the first time the teachers in more than one school district are passing out incorrect information, you have to wonder where are these teachers are getting their information.Be that as it may, discretion is the better part of valor.See if a parent, teacher meeting is possible and politely explain your concerns.Good luck.

i do no longer comprehend your age yet you sound like a young person ticked off at somebody who has been interior the occupation for a on an identical time as. instructors are interior the region of needing to be respected for their place on an identical time as on the comparable time being a servant of their customers (the mothers and fathers/guardians and/or pupils). customers have the suited to assume that they are going to get the excellent provider achievable – which interior the lecturers case, could contain featuring the suited suggestions. a shopper has the suited to point out what’s gave the impression to be incorrect and it is comprehensive in a tactful way. If the information isn’t incorrect, the instructor could desire to respectfully enable the student comprehend why the instructor believes the student is erroneous. If the student is right, i think of that the instructor could desire to congratulate the student and share this with something of the type.placing oneself up as understanding all of it and in no way making errors isn’t solid – because it grew to become into reported on some television tutor, ‘you’re cruising for a bruising!’. i’m retired instructor and respecting my pupils grew to become into great with me. Having them know me grew to become into great too, yet I knew that I could desire to earn their know and not abuse it.

… *laughing*

I would approach the teacher after the class was dismissed and discuss it with them. (This way, you’re not embarrassing the teacher in front of the whole class)
