i dont, i kinda set the trend.
leg warmer, the fur inside the coats, dresses with those things underneth(cant remeber the name, flat shoes and slips ons.
and no one used to shop from hottopic, i did.

In reality. It is impossible to not follow a trend. When there are trends, then there is the anti-trend trend. Which in itself is a trend of people trying not to follow a trend.

people follow trends because they want to be accepted. everyone wants to join the band wagon. its like everyone wants wants to be on the winning side. trend is like a virus that catches everyone and it changes in course of time. its also a form of showing off what you have. if you have all the expensive and new things, then you get respect. it the result of society.

People naturally want to fit in and gain acceptance. Seeing others do something, they see it as socially acceptable and go along with it.
Not everyone has to follow a trend, however. It depends on each individual’s personal will and judgement.

People follow trends because they attracted to a certain or many aspects of whatever it is. Beyond all that “people dont think for themselves” or the ” people want to be part of a group” stuff and so on, It’s because they think its cool or attrctive, it lets them attain some kind of quality that they feel is important by being that way. Like scene or emo kids, they think its cool to look and dress like a transvestites, i think its rediculous, but whatever floats your boat.

to be cool and get ‘friends’. but they dont realise that real friends dont care if you follow a trend or not. i wear what i want. if everyone suddenly wears baggy jeans (girls. not guys) and tee-shirts like i do i’m not going to change. i’ll wear what i want. comfortable and easy.
plus to be honest, i hate what todays trends look like anyway.

Because human’s are social people and do not normally like to be on the outside looking in. Plus the fact that companies spend $ on advertising and then bombard you into submission. And it gives your kids something to look back on and make fun of you for.
