What’s easier to get an academic scholarship or an athletic scholarship?

Or does it depend on what colleges are looking for?

I think academic scholarships are easier to get, but athletic scholarships are usually for more money. It’s harder to get an athletic scholarship because you have to really be good at a sport in order to qualify for one. Academic scholarships are given to students with good grades, which isn’t too difficult to do in public schools. If you’re good at both, apply for both. That’s the biggest obstacle to overcome when trying to get scholarships- you have to actually apply for a lot of them. I wish I had taken them more seriously in high school, because I’m sure I would have gotten more.

It really depends, if the GPA is high and it’s high for the whole year or semster then you may win an award from the school, and you might get recognzied by the Governor of the state. The athletic award in my opinion is much easier, but in order to recieve it you need to be active on the team or sport. Some colleges do check, and allow certain scholarships.

It does depend on the college, and also an athletic scholarship is easier.

well considering colleges dont normally give away athletic scholarships unless a kid does good in school i would say a academic scholarship… no school wants an athlete on their team if they cant perform well in the class room…playing a sport comes second to school work ask any college coach

i’m with everyone that answered. an academic scholarship will get you places and has zero limits to where it can take you and what kind of colleges you can get into. you can only do so much with an athletic scholarship though.

It relies upon on what sport. If that’s some thing like soccer or basketball, it might probably be less difficult to get an athletic scholarship. some thing like hockey or lacrosse, tutorial palms down. What you may desire to do, regardless of the undeniable fact that, is persue the two. super grades + activities ability= finished experience.

It depends on you. Apply for both. They are equally competitive. It’s easier to get a scholarship from the college you’re planning to go to than to get one from private organizations.

It all depends on what you are good at. But an academic one is probably worth more. unless you injure your brain during class
