Every verb has several forms; the primary ones are past tense, present tense and future tense.

Substitute the word form for the word tense, and it will be easier to understand:

Verbs in the past tense, or form, describe an action which has already occurred — I had a cat. I needed a dog.

The present tense, or form, describes action which is PRESENTLY occurring — I see your toes. I want some food.

The future tense (form) describes action which will occur at some later time — Jesus will come for us. We must be ready.

Hope this helps.

present tense is happening right now. “i like going outside.”

past tense has already happened. “i went outside.” future tense of course, hasn’t happened yet. “I will be going outside.”
