What are pros and cons of changing Schools of Children?

My kids are to transfer to other schools. Kids are in class 5th and 3rd. What are the impacts on children. Both schools are of about equal level. One-the proposed one- is nearer only.

They are young enough that it won’t affect them as much. I had to move my senior year of high school and it was fairly traumatic. They will make new friends and possibly still keep friendships of children they met at the other school, which opens a whole new circle for them. I say it should be fine!

At that age, it shouldn’t matter much. It’s middle school and high school that become very difficult.
