This is a difficult question to answer unless you provide more information. For example, can you speak and understand English fluently but have trouble with reading and writing? Or are you an intermediate English speaker but have trouble with oral and written English comprehension? How much contact do you have with other English speakers? What’s your native language?
Since I don’t know your level I’ll have to throw a few tips your way. These aren’t specific to reading / writing but they may help
– check out the foreign language section of large nearby library. Ask the librarian about the kinds of materials you are interested in
– You can borrow or purchase a paperback book + the same audiobook, use them together to help you learn
– Utilize the “closed caption” feature of your TV. This will show you English subtitles of most programs broadcast in English (if you live in an English speaking country
– When watching DVD’s try turning on the English subtitles
