the IB diploma?

i dont understand the ib diploma.

what do u have to do to earn the diploma (as in the requirements)? what courses are available for u to pick? if u do not take honors courses in tenth grade (all the honors courses here are filled up, so i have to take regular classes) can i still get good grades, understand the concepts, and earn the diploma?

what courses would suggest taking at HL and what would u suggest taking at SL?

In order to obtain your IB Diploma, you have to take IB/PreIB classes which are honor/advanced classes. In 9th and 10th grade, its called PreIB. Strarting your Junior year, you take IB courses in different subject areas such as English, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, and Art. Also in your Junior year, you’re classified as an IB Diploma Candidate. As an addition to the subjects mentioned above, you have to take a philosophy-based course called Theory of Knowledge. In that class, towards the ending of the year, you have to write an Extended Essay.

Also a requirement is 150 hours of community service in the last two years of high school. To get your IB Diploma, you have to take 3 Higher Level IB tests and 3 Standard Level IB test or 4 Higher Level and 2 Standard Level.

Higher Level means that you have been studying the course for two or more years. (Ex. You take IB Art SL in your Junior year and IB Art HL in your Senior year.)

Standard Level means that you have been studying the course for about a year.

Earning the IB Diploma takes a lot of work and a lot of deditcation. Your IB test scores have to be at a passing point.

Basically to obtain your IB Diploma include:

IB Classes (about 5 -all classes)

Theory of Knowledge course

Extended Essay

150 Hours of Community Service
