Starting high school?

I don’t know how many or if any of my friends are going to the same high school, and I’m a bit nervous. I’m not the most outgoing person. I have to get my books and stuff on the 30th, and I can go for a tour then, so I probably won’t get lost. But I was kinda made fun of at my old school, even when I was one of the oldest there. I’m afraid that high school will be like hell. Does anyone have any tips to adapting to the newer enviroment?

I was a freshman last year..and trust me I’m one of the shyest people on Earth. I was real nervous when I walked into the school for the first time..I found my homeroom and saw all of my friends were already there, which made me feel alot better. My first year of high school..was basically the same as any other year..upper grade people think their better than you..and don’t really pay attention to you much. Oh and go to the tour please..I got lost for like 30 minutes on my first day looking for the restroom. Yes I got made fun of a few times..but..thats just the process of growing up. There was no freshman jack up day..or anything..even though the seniors will tell you that. Freshman year goes by really fast..you’ll make friends in a jiffy. And for the record many people have told me that Freshman year is actually the best year.

high school is awesome! new classes, new ppl, new teachers… it’s like a fresh start, even if your old friends are there too! i wanna get my points across, but also keep it simple, so ill number them…

1) getting lost – happens sometimes, but the school is probably open now, so you can check there and scope out the place before anyone steps on those shiny floors. but if you do get lost, just ask a teacher and dont freak out! they’re lenient on freshmen’s first days

2) teasing – may or may not happen depending on the ppl at ur school… most you can do is prepare for the worst, but expect for the best! go in with confidence and poise! dont act like a scared freshman… i know ppl SAY confidence can cure anything, but i tried it too, and i gotta say, if you have confidence in yourself, it doesnt even matter what anyone says, because you’ll already be happy! anyone trying to bring you down is just jealous or not a good friend

3)classes – do your best in class!! get comfy cuz the ride last 4 whole years!!!! yeah, sounds like a long way to go, but freshman year is the longest… after that, it goes by TOO fast!

4)people – make friends with EVERYONE! doesnt hurt to be nice to everyone! even teachers and staff! one day they could be writing your college recomendations, or helping you get a job! anyways, if your friends with everyone than you know you always have someone to go to (by everyone i mean at least 1 or 2 ppl from a certain “clique” ex. “jocks”, “geeks”, “punks”, “preps”)

5) general adapting – it will come to you naturally! dont worry! just be confident, increase outgoing-ness, and dont be scared to try new things!

good luck with everything!

Yes, the first couple of days may be a bit nerving, but you will get used to it soon enough! Just be completely outgoing and nice, and it wouldn’t be too bad to be talkative (not enough though for any teachers to get mad at you). Maybe you could check with your friends to see who’s going to your highschool, and even make plans to meet up with them for the tour! And don’t worry, the older kids WON’T beat you up as soon as they see the “little twerps”, so just keep happy, stay on top of your school work and I’m sure you’ll be able to adapt very easily!

High school is so much better than junior high. Everyone matures a little and is more into school than making fun of people who are different. Just relax and have fun and work hard. The next four years will fly by, then you have college and that’s where the real fun and hard work begins. Good luck!

high school isnt as bad as ppl make it seems most ppl are mature so do worry about getting made fun of .Call up some of ur friends and ask what school they are going to .For the firsts days of school its ok to get lost everyone does even if uve been there for years so dont worry about high school should be the time of ur life

That’s okay, I’m going to a high school kinda soon too and I’m trying my best not to be stressed out, just do your school-works, homework and try to be friendly and open-minded with the other kids… And leave it to GOD!

Hope that would help,

Take care sweeti!

Just try to relax and have fun in what you do and don’t care about what anybody else thinks about you or anyone else. Try to smile at everyone, and don’t judge anyone.
