School workload too overwhelming?

I am a sophomore in high school. This is my schedule for the next two semesters:

Spanish 3

English 2 Honors (Gifted)

AP European History

Chemistry Pre-AP

Beginning Tennis

Pre-calculus

Physics Honors

Yea I know this is a lot. And I don’t have the option of dropping any of these classes. How can I be able to manage my time to get an “A” in all of these classes??

I think the best thing to do is pay attention in class. Try to be very focused in class because this can cut down on the amount of time you have to study at home. Try waking up 10 minutes earlier than you normally would, eat a good breakfast, and take a shower to wake yourself up. At home, try to study what you are struggling with the most. Don’t spend too much time on school work because this can wear you out. Make sure to organize your time wisely, allowing time for fun stuff too, and get plenty of sleep! I’m sure you will do just fine!! Good luck!!

Well first off you have to be smart to be a sophomore and all ready taking AP classes. Most schools don’t let you take them until your junior or senior year. Here is some advice from someone not as smart as you, but has had many years of studying under their belt. You have to set yourself a certain area of your room to do your work. For these classes I suggest you set aside 3 hours every night to do your work. They are hard classes. Once you figure out the time you can adjust if you need to. When I mean set aside, that means no phone, no cell calls, no IM, no music, no food. NO computer unless it is to do research and then the best way to do research is at the library, because they don’t allow IM. Get yourself a timer and set it for 45 minutes, then take one hard subject and work on it until the timer goes off. Once the timer goes off, finish that sentence and close the book. Give your a 10 minute break. Then go to an easier subject and set the timer for 20 minutes. Go back and forth until you are done. Hope this helpls and Good Luck.

Wow. That is a tough schedule. I basically have the same one, just IB classes, not AP and I’m doing regular science, not honors. And I’m a sophomore too! OK, here’s my advice:

use a planner

keep your binder(s) organized

don’t procrastinate (I do this all the time and I’m not going to this year cuz it SUCKS!)

do ALL of your hw EVERY night

study for EVERY test…even the small ones

if you don’t get something, go in after school for extra help

do all the extra credit you can

start hw as soon as you get home from school if you can and do it while eating a snack

hmm. that’s pretty much all my advice. Good luck! Hope it doesn’t get too stressful!

Just do it. Many of us did this when we were in school except that it a schedule like this everyday. It wasn’t broken up into semesters like you hve it now.

Hard work and no social life.

That’s how I do it, unfortunately.
