resolution for violence in grammar school. what is a viable option?

Peer Mediation!
I am a big advocate and do a lot of volunteer work with local area high schools and elementary schools, where we train the students on how to be mediators.
Basically, we allow each party to speak their side, then we help them to come to a resolution. Mediators do not take sides, or judge or even give solutions. The whole point is we want the conflicting parties to be the one to make the decision on what they can do so solve the conflict. Oftentimes the conflict does not have anything to do with the physical violence. It might be something deeper such as relationships, family, etc…
Even in our judicial system, generally most cases, especially for divorce cases, the judge will require them to have mediation.
Mediation is a great way for people to solve their own problems, and also preserve what is left of the relationship.
I have only jumped on the mediation bandwagon the last couple years, but the people who have been running the program, it has been wonders for the students and schools, and there has certainly been a decrease in conflicts.
Another thing to add – not sure how violent your grammar school is though. But there is a teacher present during all sessions, and sometimes a security guard if the students are very violent. Of course I am giving you a broad overview, and general idea, but if you want more details, email me. Contact available on my ‘profile’ page.
