Public School Q……………………?

Last year my son was in 4th grade and toward the end of the year for a reward for doing such a good job on WASL they got to watch “A Haunting”(hells house) that is on discovery channel. The kids were given the option to go outside….in the cold The film shows a woman being bound to chair and demonolgists come in to excerise her,the family being attacked by demons (found out later the class was allowed to play games on most fun games.com & the most popular game played by the kids was dangling a dead woman then letting her go you watch her dead body flop

School swept it away..went to lawyer said we had a case but did nothing but write letter got no results

Does anyone else think this is wrong for class of 8 yr olds in school? Think I should go to the paper? Another thing he went 2 school nurse she said if you go home police will arrest your parents or u will go to juvie and explained how the Becca bill worked so he didnt want 2 come home(he did have Strep) any thingmore I can do?

I’d find another attorney. Sounds like your parental rights and possibly your religious freedom have been violated. Not only this, but the nurse’s comments do not sound professional. As always, and you’ve learned this the hard way, parents have to stay on top of what’s happening in their children’s classrooms and lives. Sometimes this means personal sacrifice on your part, but you won’t regret it.

Seems a little much for that grade level. Was the film rated for kids? Where the parents informed? My daughter would have had nightmares for weeks. I would at least voice my concerns to the school and the school board at minimum. If they would have shown a film about Jesus you know anyone who believes differently would be freaking out!

The thing with the school nurse was definitely a violation and I would not let that go!

The movie thing, they DID have other options. And the game that you are referring to is The Boneless Girl, I believe. The point of that game is to show what would happen if humans had no bones. It doesn’t even imply that she’s dead.

But the nurse telling your son that police would arrest his parents, or he would go to Juvie is wrong. THERE you might be able to take legal actions. But with the movie ordeal, I doubt it.

I think that it is terrible.

We glorify violence and show kids how to do it and then wonder why there is so much crime.

You can go to the principal and complain as well as to an open meting of the Board of Education.

Good luck.
