Why should schools distribute condoms?

– An immediate boost to the condom manufacturers

– Raise awareness of condoms as a contraceptive

– Helps students understand what condoms can do (if teachers teach, that is)

– Students can take the opportunity to be educated on sexuality education

However, my stand is not to distribute condoms. While we can quantify some of the benefits, can we also quantify the social costs and implications should we do this en masse? An attractive argument such as the fact that sexuality education can be conducted in parallel is akin to saying that we can start a fire because the fire engine is on standby.

It is rediculous to think that if we don’t allow condoms to be distributed,that the kids won’t have sex. That is like saying that if we don’t give them chairs, they would all stand up all day long. Some would eventaully sit on the floor, and to take it a little further: as one sits, others follow the example and all end up sitting. Just because we offer them, does not mean we are encouraging them to have sex. They are having sex whether we tell them to or not. Just as we, when we were younger, did not always do what we were told to do or not do. These kids are no different. They need to be educated on the risks and consequences by schools and PARENTS!!!! If we give them all the information, and they still decide to have sex, they need to be protected. Yes, in a perfect world, or in the 1950’s, kids could be told not to do something and they would obey, just “because we said so”. But that is not the case anymore. Adults do it too. We all know that tanning and exposure to the sun can possibly lead to cancer, but does that keep people from laying out on the beach, or laying in tanning beds? Is that any smarter? Should we not hand out sunscreen, because they shouldn’t be doing it in the first place? Condoms can prevent pregnancy and diseases, period.

One per person. If they are caugt using them for vandalism then stop distributing them! Condoms are good because they stop you from contracting life thretning dideseas such as pregnancy

I cannot defend it .,encouraging immorality professionally.normally a person should enjoy the fruits or penalties of his actions. Therefore i am against all such
