yeah i think its good to talk to them you know if you think about it our children watch everything we do, say and how we present ourselves and they usually do the same so if you talk to them and try to teach them right and set good morals there sure to turn out fine, hope i helped! have a good day

Teaching a trade is fine b/c it promotes self esteem and excitement about the future. But, I think it’s more important to teach children the value of money, and that hard work can have great returns. Earning a few dollars that they can spend any way they choose, by doing chores or mowing lawns, babysitting, etc, shows them that what you earn is what you can spend. The harder you work, the more money to spend, the more control over what kind of lifestyle you will have as an adult.

I was the first college graduate in my entire family. I decided to go to college at the age of 22, after realizing that my high school education wasn’t allowing me to save enough to buy a home, buy people holiday gifts, and keep myself out of debt.

If children learn that education isn’t an option, it’s a necessity more important than high school, it wouldn’t even be a question for them to drop out or not.

High school drop outs tend to have low self esteem. Teaching them a trade would certainly help their esteem, but it doesn’t promote self discovery. If you want them to drive their own direction in life, teach them the value of education and the value of hard work. Then they can choose something they truly love.

Every day is preparation for the rest of life. I think parents should make sure that their children have to do chores and learn that they have to make a contribution to family life. Children should have to earn pocket money, and not take it for granted that they can have everything they want without working for it. Even young children can learn to do laundry, set and clear the table, wash dishes, vacuum, make the beds, etc. I think that approach will make more difference than teaching them a trade. Parents may not have the skills to teach trades, but they can teach responsibility and independence.

I think the parent should my father taught me a trade and right after high school I got a very good paying job now the job is gone and I am almost 50 and the only job i can get is hard labor jobs

No dont let kids grow up too quickly by being in the know too early. They can make the right decisions when the time comes. When it does make sure they are heading in the right direction – a parents job.

the main mandatory skills of a individual of any age are A. serious thinking, B. self assurance C. Innovation/Ingenuity/Originality and D. artwork Ethic. those chiefly (in that order) i attempt to instill in my little ones. whether over matched intellectually a individual who’s an expert at those 4 will win each and each time.
