Is this grading scale common?
I always heard that Virginia schools were very hard on their students. I didn’t think so, but of course i never compared my school system to other ones. Here is the grading scale for Halifax County, Virginia.
94-100 A
86-93 B
78-85 C
70-77 D
69 or below F
Is this grading scale tougher than most? If so, what is the grading scale that you are used to?

In high school ours was
94-100 – A
85-93 – B
75-84 – C
70-74 – D

It seems that you’re on a 6-8 point scale. My cousin uses a 7 point scale, but she has A+ & A- in between, but I think it’s harsh to say 93 is a B. My scale goes like this… 97-100: A+ 92-96: A 90-91: A- 87-89: B+ 82-86: B 80-81: B- 77-79: C+ 72-76: C 70-71: C- 69: D+ 67-68: D 66: D- 0-65: U (which is an F, basically)

80-89 B

0-59 F
we used to have something like yours in 6th grade, but it was like 92-100 A, 82-91 B, and so on.
