I don’t believe it.. It always comes back to the parents. If the parents feel the child is using the internet too much, it is up to them to curtail the usage. Parents are supposed to be in charge, they no longer are in a lot of cases, because they don’t want their kids to hate them. Parents like this don’t realize that their kids grow up never respecting them because they had no back bone. It is just another thing bad parents can use an excuse.

No. I’ve studied this and have answered this dozens of times. The date itself is significant only in that it is (and this is the VERY short answer) the end of a galactic cycle calculated on the Mayan calendar. Most apocolyptic believers ignore the well known fact of history that the mayan calendar doesn’t end on this date. It just starts over again. Think of the 12-21-12 date as this: its not at all unlike the odometer on your car. When you hit 9 it goes to 0. Does your car explode? No. Its a cycle and it starts over. Another way to consider looking at this is think of it as a galactic New Year not unlike the January 1st we see every year. The Mayans had a very complex system which I can’t explain easily here. They had no end of the world proclimations, that came later by religious wackos and the likes who can’t just leave a sexy number like 12-21-12 alone. You like 12-21-12? try the 11:11 one on….that’s also related. Its the hour and minute that mayan calendar resets…. This is well know as the day nothing happens….forget what anyone else tries to tell you. Faith is one thing, but logic trumps myth.

I am a bit confused on your question. Do you mean students not paying attention in class because they are on the internet? Or do you mean the lack of discipline in children, in general, is blamed on the internet?

I think that if you mean the lack of disciplin in general, that it is no one’s fault but the parents. Working double jobs is no excuse, because you should not have had a child until you were ready to raise one appropriately. There is really no excuse these days to not be giving your kids the proper amount of attention. My parents were able to do it with me…and I turned out fine. Why can’t others be expected to do the same.

If you mean students in class using the internet, the only way to fix it is to make students turn off their monitors…or have the teachers monitor what they are doing on the computers. They make programs that let you see what is on the computer screen of the students…so if one is checking his emal…you will know.
