They are more difficult – they’re meant to be – but if you’ve been on an IB curriculum they shouldn’t be too much of a jump. They’re generally weighted classes, so if your school system is on a 4.0 GPA the AP class would generally count as a 5.0 class.

I personally found them a welcome relief from the boredom of other classes…they do require consistent hard work, and yes they’re challenging, but I really enjoyed all the AP classes I took. Good luck!

Ap really isn’t hard. If you have good work ethic than you can get through it. Everyone makes it seem that it is really hard, but it really isn’t. It depends on what you are more comfortable with. Would you rather take easy classes that you can easily pass or challenge yourself? From my one experience I think that AP courses have taught me more about life in general. It gives you a different perspective on learning that regular courses are unable to do. As for the tests if you study and pay attention then you should be fine. It also would be wise to invest in a review book and study groups help as well. And besides you will be put into regular classes as well as AP.

You are probably going to hate this answer but it REALLY depends on the test and instructor. And subject.

For example, my freshman year I took AP Spanish 4, and I’m not extremely proficient in the language but to me the test was sooo easy. I barely did my homework etc…

The Calculus, History, and Science tests are the work of Satan however. To be able to receive a 5 of those tests you must somehow arrange study groups on weekends etc…

We did all this and I got a 4. Those three are the hard ones, the language ones are easy if you speak those languages fluently already.

They are going to be as hard as you make them. Make sure you prepare for your test. But they are not grueling.

AP classes are definitely harder, the curriculum is supposed to be college-level but depending on your teacher, the difficulty may vary. . .the exams itself are super hard, I only passed one out of four

You will need to study all year, do not procrastinate or chances are you won’t pass

AP is college courses, and yeah they are harder than normal studies. At the end of AP if you fail the test the course dosent count.
