what would you recommend for two students sitting their way through a double computer studies lesson with a teacher who is absent and a prick of a substitute who has no lesson plan?

It’s difficult. But you can manage your teacher and give the person a chance if you are careful and a bit creative. You can ask your teacher interesting questions and lead the person into a plan that you have. Then the teacher may get lost in that track and start teaching what you think the teacher should be teaching. Or you can ask the teacher to tell you a bit of interesting history about computer technology or spark a debate about some technology. Then every one will join in and the class will be merry.

But make sure, do it politely. We often see idiots put in charge, but learning to deal with it is a great skill!

DONT ACT UP< just try to relax, and if you want to learn something, then ask a queation about the last class, this will give a place for the teacher to start. If you are bored and hate the subject, just try and pay attention.
