I’m going into High School in a few weeks. I’m scared out of my mind. Can someone tell me what to expect?

and also tell me what I can look out for and things I should not/should worry about?

first off, RELAX! it;’s the same as your other first days. and don’t be afraid to stand up to seniors who try to give you crap like freshman can’t walk across the seal or stuff like that. ball kicks hurt them as much as the rest of us but most likely you won’t see any hazing in today’s PC school enviornment. see your advisor asap, keep your schedule with you at all times until you know the layout of the school. look for organizations and clubs to join. are you good at any sports? sign up! and above all ENJOY IT!!!:-)

Here is the best advice I can give anyone in your situation. Just be yourself and try your best not to wory about it. It seems like a big deal and it will all throughout high school but once you finish you will look back and say to yourself wow, that really wasn’t bad at all and I worried for absolutely no reason what soever. Seriously, high school really isnt as bad as it seems or as peple make you think it is. Just try to have fun and make some friends and do what you are expected to do but dont let things get to you. High school seems like the hardest and most important part of your life until you are done, then it becomes one more milestone that you beat. Good luck, and if you ever find yourself stressing out or whatever just find someone to talk to.

High school, as I remember it, was pretty much a breeze compared to junior high (or middle school as they call it nowadays).

The kids seemed to realize that now was the time to grow up and get with it, and as a result, the atmosphere was much more geared toward learning, and not so much being a jerk (as many people are afraid the upperclassmen will be).

Relax, get oriented in the first week, and you’ll probably enjoy it, especially if you go to a fairly mellow high school.

If your middle school teachers ever gave you any bull about “wahh, high school is so much harder”, they were just joking.

It seriously is the easiest ever.

Your teacher will all understand that you are lost for the first couple of days, and everything will be fine.

There’s really not that much to worry about.

Just try not to piss off seniors.

Don’t sit in their lunch table spots, etc.

Just have some common sense.

You really have nothing to worry about.

dont try to get a girlfriend who is an upperclassman

oh and in some schools, freshman fridays isnt even real

you will get lost and you will freak about finals. all the stress goes away before sophomore year because you dont have to do anything.

be prepared for a lot of drama if you have friends who are girls

and probably all of your friends will start dating random girls, maybe get into drugs and stuff and even get arrested.

try not to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

try not to get a degrading nickname.

highschool is nothing like what they say in the movies.

expect to be lost for about the first week. most teachers are understanding and know your a freshman so they wont mind if your late the first week but after that its your fault. lunch will always be packed and the food will always suck. dont listen to any upper classmen cause they will get you lost. if your clueless then find a teacher or older friend. its going to be fun after awhile but dont expect to be the most popular the first day of class
