How many people live there, Age, Sex / Gender, What types of housing do people have, Socioeconomic status (SES), Income, Religion, Marital status, Ownership of home, car, pet, etc., Family size, Education, History, etc. Have them find photos and put them on slides.
This would be fun, learning oriented, AND maybe strengthen grades.
Check your local public library- there may be videos or DVDs on travel in France. Also, ask the Program Director or whomever is responsible for scheduling programs. There may be some people who have traveled to France or to French Canada who may be willing to bring their slides or videos and talk about their trips.
Your club can select a charity that you can work with all year. One nice project is to adopt a family for Christmas (the Salvation Army and local churches may have this information). Your club can hold fundraisers like car washes or candy sales to fund the project.
Another project may be to “Adopt a Platoon” Send cards, letters, and gifts to troops overseas.
Is there another language club in your school? Maybe you can get together and have a “festival” near the end of the year. Food, games and prizes could be part of the festival.
Sounds like fun. I was in the Spanish Club in high school. We couldn’t do a lot, but we had fun.
