I have a problem in school….?
Well todays my first day, and i alerady hate my language arts teacher. only 1 freind is with me in my classes in 8th grade, but all my other freinds are in another class group. should i change classes????

I’ve been in this situation before. Most of the time, I adjusted,and eventually I got used to it, and made friends. But I hated my spanish class the first day, and did the whole school year. If you think you won’t like it, then I would suggest changing your schedule as soon as possible. But give it a chance. it could get better. Besides, you have 1 friend. I knew NOBODY in my spanish class.

Deal with it. Once you get in high school, you’re bound to not have MANY friends in your classes, especially after your freshman year. I’ve been in classes where I don’t even KNOW anyone, including the teacher.
But I’m sure you can make new friends. Give the teacher a chance. And as I see from your typing, you may need to let that teacher help you a little more. (I don’t mean that in any rude way or anything, I promise), It’s just you need to learn to make friends, it’s a part of life AND growing up.

The counselor will give you the right advice. I think you could just make new friends. Just say hi to other people and ask a random question or or say a random compliment, like, I like your shoes! or whatever! Just talk to people and smile at them. I’m an 8th grader too and I had that problem in 7th grade but it was worse cuz I started school a week late and everyone already had new friends. So just be nice and don’t be shy. If you don’t talk they’ll think you’re too antisocial. 😉

I don’t think you can change classes, but try to make new friends. You shouldn’t limit yourself to just a few friends. It’s worth a try. There’s nothing i could do about the teacher thought… try getting along with the teacher too.

oh ive been here…. junior year i was in a personal finace class and the first day i disliked it ALOT… but i chose to stay in for some reason ad im glad i did cuz i made friends with a few people in their and looked forward to that class everyday… and a person that i became friends with is no a very close friend who i meet out of school to hangout with. we had classes the next year together which i also looked forward to

No, you can’t really switch classes unless there’s a problem with your schedule or the teacher, and it can’t be just because you don’t like her or him
