i am quiet in class, and teachers kno i am loud out of class.time for recommendations – should i speak up now?

i am relatively quiet in my classes. i know the answers to questions but i just dont have the confidence to answer them because none of my friends are in my classes, and the people that are in my classes are really really smart, competitive and mean. it has always been this way. now it is time for recommendations and teachers know i am smart and polite but they know i dont have enough confidence either. i am giving them my forms tomorrow. i keep telling myself “answer the questions in class tomorrow,” but now i really want to get a good recommendation and i think i might begin to answer questions. will teachers believe this is just sucking up? will they like it? what should i do? (i am a relatively loud person outside of classes with my friends, but when it comes to classes i like to focus on my schoolwork am quiet)….

Mainly I think you should start speaking up because other people will start thinking that you are a quiet but loud person but, like last week I started speaking up and it works well. Also you can communicate with other people than your friends try it

Hey, I’m exactly the same way. You should definitely start answering questions. If not now, it’ll pay off in the long run. (But it might pay off now too). Usually teachers are understanding. I thought I would get HORRIBLE recommendations because I’m so quiet, but turns out my recommendations were VERYYY good. well, depends on what recommendations, really. but yeah, definitely start speaking up. but, that doesn’t mean you’ll get bad recommendations.
