I am just entering Geometry in school and I am a little afraid. Did you have fun in Geometry?

I was in algebra a year earlier and i liked it a lot, but people keep telling me that if i like one, i won’t like the other. I usually get A’s in math but this year in Geometry i am skeptical. (in 9th grade)

I loved Geometry, but I think it had more to do with the teacher than with the information.

The basic difference is that with Algebra, there is usually one specific way to solve an equation; you apply the formula, and boom – there you go. With Geometry, there can be a number of different theorems that you can apply to solve a problem. For kids that really like the one-way structure of Algebra, that can throw them off.

You’ll probably do fine, especially if you understand the concepts behind lower math and Algebra. Don’t let the different way of doing things throw you – Geometry isn’t really that hard 🙂

Geometry was one of my favorite classes last year. True, my teacher was awesome (Col. Sanders… LMAO), but it’s pretty easy.

I mean, you won’t even have to pay attention until about midway through the year- you start off doing lessons about points, lines, planes, etc.

Don’t listen to those people. Yeah, algebra is more left-brained and geometry is more right-brained (or vice versa, I’m not really sure), but if you’re good at math it really shouldn’t be any trouble for you.

The only part I genuinely didn’t like about the class were the proofs- they weren’t hard, I just hated doing them.

Have fun- high school is way more fun than middle school (Class of ’10 wootwoot!!! lol).

All the best.

this is actually true for a lot of people, because algebra requires a different part of the brain than geometry. more often than not, people who excel at one arent as good at the other. im a more artistic type person, and i did very well in geometry (you think with the artistic part of your brain in geometry) but nearly failed out of algebra. if you did well in algebra you may not do as well but you can probably get by pretty good if your a math person. it also depends on the teacher and how easy they make it. good luck 🙂

I hate the subject of math all together but I found geometry to best of them all. I thought that Algebra was difficult but geometry was much easier and more interesting. I cant say that I actually had fun in the class but I found the subject to be a little “lighter.” If you do well in math, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I absolutey despise math in all forms. I failed Algebra once, and passed with straight C’s the second time. However, I had a really nice Geo teacher, and passed with amazing grades. I learned to like math. It all depends on your dedication.
